Mike Collier Builds Campaign Cash

Reports more raised money than any Democratic Candidate for Lieutenant Governor at this stage in decades

Austin, Texas, July 14, 2017 -- Mike Collier will report raising more than $234,000 in contributions for his first fundraising period. Mike Collier formally announced his candidacy for Lieutenant Governor less than a month ago in Round Rock on June 17.

Mike Collier issued the following statement:

“I started raising money 20 months ahead of the 2018 general election, and Texans have sent me a strong message: they are behind my campaign to serve as their next Lieutenant Governor. No Democratic candidate for lieutenant governor at this point has been in a more advantageous position in decades. Texas is a single digit state after this last election. I polled ahead of Dan Patrick in the most recent Texas Lyceum Poll [April 18, 2017]. This race is winnable, and I look forward to our success.

“None of the more than 1,000 individual contributions is a political action committee or special interest group. Nearly all donors thus far are Texans. My campaign is supported by Texans because they know I will fight for them. As a business leader and political outsider I will bring Texans together to solve our state’s real problems with honest solutions. Together we're going to make Texas Proud!"
